Bowling became an incredibly popular form of indoor recreation in the 1920s and continues to be so today. These women are bowling in the 1946 Milwaukee Journal's championship tournament.

African American workers commemorated their success in the Wisconsin CIO state bowling tournament in 1947. Calling their team the “Bronzeville Bombers,” they worked in different factories in Milwaukee represented by CIO unions.

The Little White Schoolhouse in Brown Deer is the only remaining intact one-room schoolhouse in Milwaukee County. Built in 1884, it is now managed by the Brown Deer Historical Society and hosts a local history museum.
