The Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in the community of Freistadt was established by Mequon's first German settlers in 1839. The structure that stands today is the congregation's fourth building and was constructed in 1884.

The Tripoli Shrine Temple in the Concordia neighborhood was completed in 1928. It is considered to be one of the best examples of Moorish Revival architecture in the United States.
Once part of the Milwaukee Hospital for the Insane, this postcard illustrates the pavilion used to quarantine tuberculosis patients in the 20th century.

The reconstruction of the Marquette Interchange in the 2000s required a carefully choreographed schedule to fit its many pieces into place, as illustrated by the several merging lanes in this 2007 photograph.
At the right of this photograph, a train leaves the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul, and Pacific Railway depot while its iconic clock tower stands in the background.
